Big News and Bubbly

Exciting news! We found out this week that husband got an offer for a FABULOUS new job! The place where he currently works is bleeding money, and there is zero opportunity for advancement, so after two years there husband was itching to grow into a bigger and better position. So he went out and did it!

I am so proud of him I could burst!

So this weekend, we will be celebrating big things to come in this little household. Sadly, accepting this job means moving away from my beloved Chicago, but it also means we’ll be able to buy a house (yayayay!!!) and start a family. Definitely a good thing.

A Majorly Delayed Halloween Update

Oy vey! My life has been on hold recently since a terrible sickness staked its claim on me. But no worries, dear readers! I’ve recovered! And look! I have (a) Halloween photo! So it’s cool, right? Right?!

Halloween

I channeled my inner Betty Draper, and classed up a Halloween party 1960’s style! My favorite part of the outfit? My (fake) cigarette and my (real) cocktail. Love it!

So yeah, I was lame and only took one Halloween photo. But my Don Draper was at home with the sickness that afflicted me (sorry honey!), so I only stayed at the party for a short time. But I had a lot of fun dressing up as Betty- the femininity of the whole ensemble was super enjoyable to rock!

Did you all have a good and healthy Halloween?

Happy Halloween!

Tonight, the husband and I are attending a Halloween party, and for the first time in my life I’m going to be part of a couple’s costume! In other words, I cajoled the husband into dressing up as part of a couple’s costume. Mwa ha ha!

So later on today, I’ll be styling myself into the beautiful Betty Draper, and husband will be my dashing man, Don Draper (yes, we kinda love Mad Men). And don’t you all worry- I’ll be sharing pics of the outcome!

But in the meantime, I’ll share a few pictures with you of the adorable Halloween carnival that we put on for the children yesterday at school.

Running, Week 5

Last week I completed my fifth week of the running challenge. And boy did it end with a bang, because the final day called for 20 minutes of running. Eek!

I was nervous about the twenty minute run, because the run before that felt TERRIBLE. Truly horrendous. My legs felt like lead, I wasn’t getting into a groove, every minute was torture… no bueno. So when day three rolled around and it was time to get moving, I was a little apprehensive, but decided to have a positive attitude and just go for it. So I did. And actually, it went pretty great! I can feel my body changing and becoming more fit, and I can run the miles to prove it. Pretty darn amazing for a girl who couldn’t run one mile a month ago. Yay for me!

I’m now on week six and chugging right along. Three more weeks are left before I’ll be able to run three miles, and I’m really looking forward to it!

How are my other running girls doing?

Pro Album Awesomeness!

Last week our beyond lovely pro album arrived, and let me tell you, I could not be happier with how it turned out! Want a peek?

*Warning: Lots and lots of pictures of our wedding ahead.*

The cover. Sorry for the crappy blurring of our last name. The photo is printed so that it has a metallic sheen, which is super awesome, and is covered by a thick pane of glass.

First page. Once again, I blurred out our last name. Lo siento mucho.

See how thick the pages are? Love it!

So there you have it! Our pro album. Looking through the photos makes me excited to show it to our children and tell them all about the day Mom and Dad got married.

Did you get a professional album made?

I *Heart* Chicago

IMG_0674-pola

This is one of my favorite views of the city.  Heading south from where we live on Lake Shore Drive, you get the best skyline- the John Hancock Building, the Drake, Lake Michigan out to the left, beautiful swanky apartment buildings I’ll never live in… all the good stuff!

But nonetheless, Chicago is a great city. I love living here!

Why Do You Live So Far Away?

I have a younger sister.

 Prowant_151-pola01

She lives in Boston, and I miss her a lot.

We’re pretty much opposites in every way, yet somehow we’re the best of friends. As only sisters can be.
